Sam Fender has confirmed that the ticket prices for his upcoming stadium tour will be reduced. The 32 year old artist responded to social media criticism by stating that the initial fees were too high. He assured fans that the new pricing would better reflect the actual costs of staging the shows. This move aims to remove the extra profit margin that ticketing partners often add to the final cost.

The controversy began earlier this week when the tour was first announced. An Instagram user named Gavin Davis pointed out the steep price differences for the London show at Wembley. Front standing tickets were listed at 130.75 pounds, while standard standing spots cost 98.85 pounds. Seated tickets ranged from 64.75 pounds to 130.75 pounds. Many followers felt this wide spread was excessive for a pop rock event.

Fender addressed the specific practice of splitting standing areas into front and back tiers. He described this setup as bollocks and confirmed it would not be used for his tour. The singer expressed confusion over how such a system became a standard norm in the live music industry. He wants to simplify the ticketing structure to make it more accessible for working fans.

The high prices were not unique to the London venue. Listings for other cities on the tour also showed standing tickets exceeding 100 pounds. In Newcastle, the top price reached 112.90 pounds. Cardiff listed top tickets at 119 pounds, and Manchester’s top price was 119.60 pounds. Edinburgh had the highest price point in the UK lineup at 120.95 pounds.

General ticket sales for the tour are scheduled to begin on Friday, with a presale opening on Wednesday morning. The performances will take place across the summer of 2027. Fender is set to perform at several major stadiums, including St James’s Park in Newcastle, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Marley Park in Dublin, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Fender joins a growing list of artists who have publicly challenged the high costs of live music. In August, Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson shared a similar sentiment in a TikTok video. She agreed with fans that tickets for her show in Bangkok were very expensive. Larsson expressed a desire to be more involved in the pricing process to lower financial barriers for attendees.

In addition to the tour news, Fender confirmed that a fourth studio album is in the works. He has not yet revealed the title or cover art for the new project. The release follows his recent success, including a Mercury prize win for his 2025 album People Watching. He has won five Brit awards during his career and recently collaborated with Olivia Dean on a duet version of Rein Me In, which became the longest running number one single in British history.
