The weekend forecast indicates cooler conditions for outdoor activities. Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high near 69 degrees, while Saturday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 43 degrees. The National Weather Service also released updated climate figures for metro Atlanta for October 2026. These data compare the previous month’s weather against a 30-year average to identify deviations. The National Ocean Service defines weather as daily conditions, such as a specific day being sunny and 75 degrees or snowy and 20 degrees. Climate, in contrast, refers to the long-term average of that weather over time and space. This distinction is important when discussing changes in long-term averages, as opposed to day-to-day fluctuations.
The National Weather Service operates under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Its mandate includes providing forecasts, warnings, and impact-based decision support services for the United States and its territories. The agency aims to protect life and property while enhancing the national economy by building a society prepared for weather, water, and climate events.
The forecast data is centered on Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta. For the immediate future, commuters should plan for potential rain delays on Wednesday and prepare for colder layers by Friday evening.
