Atlanta police are asking residents to help identify a group of suspects involved in a car prowling that left one man shot.

Investigators say the incident began around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 27, 2026, when a group of thieves approached a parked vehicle on New Jersey Avenue NW. The car owner discovered the group and was shot twice. The suspects fled the scene in a silver Hyundai Elantra, firing several additional shots down the street as they drove away.

Police later determined that nine vehicles in the area had been broken into during the same period. The department has released surveillance video and photographs of the suspects to the public. Authorities hope local residents will recognize the individuals or the specific silver car used in the getaway.

Detectives have not yet named the victim or provided a specific update on his medical condition. They have also not confirmed the exact number of people involved in the break-ins or shooting. The suspects remain at large as of this week.

The Atlanta Police Department is accepting anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta. People can call 404-577-8477, visit stopcrimeatl.org, use the P3 Tips app, or text CSGA to 738477. Tipsters who provide information leading to an arrest are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000.
