A ground cinnamon product sold in 14 states is being pulled from shelves over lead concerns ahead of the holidays.

The product, Wise Wife Brand Ground Cinnamon, was distributed by SLR Food Distribution Inc. The company issued a voluntary recall after the cinnamon was found to contain elevated lead levels, according to the recall alert.

The affected containers were sold in retail and grocery stores from Sept. 8, 2025, through June 28, 2026. The sales span Connecticut, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The recalled product is packaged in a 110 gram (3.88 ounce) clear plastic container with a black screw-top cap. The best-before date printed on the package is April 25, 2027, and the UPC on the back label is 0688474302754.

Lead exposure can affect nearly every bodily system, with effects varying by dosage, duration, age and weight, the recall notice states. Low-level, short-term exposure may produce no immediate symptoms. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the cinnamon.

Consumers are advised not to eat the product and to discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
