The Otago University Students Association will hold its annual general meeting on Wednesday at 1 p.m. to allow members to review the organization's spending and direct future funding.
The session is scheduled for the Main Common Room, located next to Union Hall. Organizers noted that the event will move to the Union Lawn if the weather permits.
OUSA president Daniel confirmed that the association previously cancelled a general meeting because not enough students attended. He described that prior event as embarrassing. The executive team stated that the union spends money on behalf of students and that the annual levy is student money.
The meeting provides a direct channel for students to ask questions about the budget. Troy, who handles finance for the organization, invited students to send specific budget questions to [email protected] before the event.
General inquiries can be directed to Kamesha, the administration vice president, at [email protected], or to Daniel at [email protected]. The team also listed the executive Instagram account @ousaexec as a point of contact.
Organizers will provide free food and other items to encourage attendance. The AGM remains one of the few opportunities for students to vote on and shape how the association uses their funds in the coming year.
