The Los Angeles Chargers dropped their seventh straight game on Sunday, falling 24-9 to the Los Angeles Rams.

Rookie edge rusher Akheem Mesidor captured the team's current state of confusion following the loss at SoFi Stadium. The second-round draft pick said he did not know how to explain the collapse in results. He noted that the locker room prepares diligently each week, yet the outcomes do not match the effort. The team now requires a 10-game winning streak to keep a realistic chance at the postseason.

The offensive unit struggled significantly during the contest, marking its most disappointing performance of the season. The squad has now gone 27 consecutive possessions without scoring a touchdown over the last nine quarters. The running back rotation produced only 49 yards on 21 carries, averaging 2.3 yards per attempt. Head coach Jim Harbaugh indicated that reducing the rotation might help a single player establish rhythm. The front office has not signaled a move to trade veteran players with expiring contracts, leaving the team to rely on internal adjustments.

The defense showed early promise by holding the Rams without a first down for five straight possessions. The unit allowed just 14 net yards in that span. However, the offense could not sustain momentum after quarterback Justin Herbert threw an interception in the red zone. The Rams converted that turnover into a field goal, and the defensive performance did not prevent the final loss. Practice squad cornerback Isas Waxter led the team with six tackles and stopped two screen passes from Rams wideout Puka Nacua for losses.

The Chargers are now on their longest losing streak since the 2000 season, having lost 10 games in a row dating back to their wild-card defeat by the New England Patriots last year. Cornerback Deane Leonard remains in the concussion protocol, while rookie wideout Brenen Thompson is unlikely to practice this week due to a quad and hamstring injury. Tight end David Njoku is expected to return to practice from injured reserve. The team will host the 2-5 Houston Texans next Sunday.

The franchise has not traded Khalil Mack, a 35-year-old edge rusher with an expiring contract, despite the losing skid. The organization continues to hope for a turnaround under Harbaugh without making major roster moves. The loss to the Rams keeps the Chargers at 0-7 on the season.
