Tomas Hertl scored the game-winning goal with 32 seconds left in regulation to lead the Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night. The puck slipped past Pittsburgh goaltender Arturs Silovs after a pass from Mark Stone, securing the win for Vegas in the final minute of play.

This marked the second time in franchise history that the Golden Knights have won a game in Pittsburgh. The result ended a three-game losing streak for the Penguins, who had previously lost seven of their last nine matches. The Penguins' penalty kill unit allowed two power-play goals during the contest, a factor that proved decisive in the final frames.

Adin Hill made 23 saves for the Golden Knights, who had lost to the Boston Bruins in a shootout the previous night. Trevor Connelly tied the score with 8:41 remaining in the third period. His breakaway goal occurred after Pittsburgh forward Tommy Novak and Rickard Rakell had erased a one-goal deficit to give the Penguins a brief lead.

Novak was called for tripping shortly after the teams returned to even strength. That penalty led to Hertl's second power-play goal of the night. The Penguins struggled to contain the man-advantage threat, allowing a second power-play goal during their home game.

Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby did not record a point in the loss. He now has 1,771 career points, tying Marcel Dionne for sixth on the NHL's all-time scoring list. The Penguins played without forward Evgeni Malkin, who sat out with a lower-body injury.

Hertl had scored his team's only goal in the first 40 minutes of the game in the late first period. Mitch Marner provided the primary assist, extending his points streak to 11 games. The teams met just over two weeks earlier in Las Vegas, where the Golden Knights had defeated the Penguins by a wider margin.

The Golden Knights will continue their road trip in Detroit on Thursday. The Penguins will host the Boston Bruins at PPG Paints Arena on the same day.
