Forty Galaxy phones and tablets are scheduled to receive the One UI 9 software update in Japan by the end of November 2026. Samsung Japan published the specific timeline and device roster on Thursday, October 23. The list serves as a preview for global owners, although the dates provided apply strictly to the Japanese market.
The update, built on Android 17, first launched in September on the Galaxy S26 series. It has since spread to several previous-generation devices. The new official list includes flagships such as the Galaxy S25, S25 Ultra, S24, S24 Ultra, and S24 FE. It also covers the Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra. Foldable devices on the list include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5.
Mid-range options appear in large numbers. The list names the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25. Tablet support extends across multiple generations. Included models are the Galaxy Tab S11, S11 Ultra, Tab S10, S10+, S10 Ultra, Tab S10 FE, S10 FE+, and Tab S10 Lite. The Tab S9, S9+, S9 Ultra, Tab S9 FE, and S9 FE+ also receive the update. Older devices such as the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G, and Tab Active 5 Pro complete the roster.
The published list omits several expected devices. The "Plus" versions of recent Galaxy S flagships are absent. Many Galaxy A models and devices sold in other regions are also missing from the document. Samsung has not explained why these specific models are excluded from the current schedule.
Samsung stated that the updates will arrive in Japan across October and November 2026. The company expects to continue rolling out the software globally beyond that period. Many entry-level devices are likely to be updated through December and January. The Japanese timeline provides a concrete window for the first wave of the release, while global dates remain subject to regional variations.
The rollout status for individual users depends on their specific model and region. Owners of the listed devices in Japan can expect the software in the coming weeks. The full list of eligible hardware remains a partial guide until Samsung releases additional batches.
